The Digestive Disease Data Science Commons: Portals

CSIBD investigators and collaborators have generated and maintain a wealth of online resources to query and analyze data from patients and model systems relevant to IBD, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

Host Portals

The International Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetics Consortium is a global network of researchers. Current projects bring together genome-wide genotyping data and whole exome/whole genome sequencing data for >75K IBD patients. CSIBD members Hailiang Huang, Hamed Khalili, Mark Daly, Ramnik Xavier are Signatory Investigators.

The Genome Aggregation Database (gnomAD) aggregates and harmonizes both exome and genome sequencing data from a wide variety of large-scale sequencing projects and making summary data available for the wider scientific community. Mark Daly, the co-Director of the CSIBD Genetics and Microbiome Core, co-directs gnomAD, and CSIBD investigators Daniel MacArthur and Benjamin Neale are members of the gnomAD Steering Committee.

The Single Cell Portal (SCP) enables data sharing, supports dynamic results visualization, and facilitates scientific exploration across a large repository of single-cell datasets. SCP's data contributors maintain full control over how their data are shared and presented, without requiring web development expertise. Founding vision, leadership and funding for the SCP were provided in part by CSIBD investigators in the Klarman Cell Observatory, which is currently led by Ramnik Xavier, director of the CSIBD.

Microbiome Portals

The Human Microbial Bioactives Resource (HMBR) aims to provide a comprehensive platform for discovery, validation, and early-stage translation of novel therapeutics derived from the microbiome. Curtis Huttenhower, co-Director of the CSIBD Genetics and Microbiome Core, and Ramnik Xavier, director of the CSIBD, are HMBR Principal Investigators.

The Inflammatory Bowel Disease Multi'omics Database, provides a comprehensive description of host and microbial activities in inflammatory bowel diseases. Curtis Huttenhower, co-Director of the CSIBD Genetics and Microbiome Core, and Ramnik Xavier, director of the CSIBD, are Principal Investigators for this database and CSIBD investigator Clary Clish is a member of the Assays and Omics Team.
